Washington Health Benefit Exchange FAQ

The following are commonly asked questions by members



The Washington Health Benefit Exchange (WAHBE) provides a marketplace for Affordable Care Act health and dental insurance coverage for individuals and families in Washington State.



The Delta Dental Individual and Family – Washington Family Plan is for adults ages 19+ or adults plus children. If you choose this plan for family coverage, you don't need to enroll your children for the Washington Kids plan.

The Delta Dental Individual – Washington Kids Plan is for children ages 0-18. It does not cover adults and you are not required to have an adult plan to purchase a plan for your child(ren).



Eligibility is available to anyone under age 65 during open enrollment (not Medicare eligible). Financial subsidies are based on household income and household size. Visit the Washington Health Plan Finder website and click “Apply Now”. You will then be presented with a series of steps that you must complete to see what plans you are eligible to apply for and enroll in.



You may enroll during open enrollment (November 1 to December 15), or at other special enrollment times based on qualified events allowed by the Exchange. Please see the Washington Health Benefit Exchange website for more information.



You may use your plan benefits at any participating dentist in Washington state that uses the Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier network. The Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier network is the largest provider network and provides the most access to and care for all individual and group plans. Delta Dental of Washington Health Benefit Exchange Plans are administered by Wyssta Services, Inc., a health care benefit manager acting on behalf of Delta Dental of Washington. As our Health Care Benefit Manager, Wyssta Services, Inc. performs certain tasks on Delta Dental of Washington’s behalf, such as enrollment, claims processing, and customer service. If you are not eligible for a Washington Health Benefit Exchange Plan, you may purchase a Delta Dental of Washington Individual and Family Dental Plan. Individual plans are designed for anybody who does not have dental coverage through their current employer or would like additional dental coverage for themselves or for their family.Delta Dental of Washington currently offers six different plans for both individuals and families. Both individuals and families are eligible for all six of our plan offerings.
