The summer break means freedom and fun as well as a break from the hectic school year schedule for most kids. It can also mean less consistent brushing and flossing habits. Through Delta Dental of Washington’s partnership with the Seattle Storm, more children will learn more about the dental profession and why taking care of their young teeth is so important.
In early July, the Tooth Fairy visited Kid’s Day hosted by the Seattle Storm at Climate Pledge arena. Prior to the game, the Tooth Fairy greeted families, summer camps and curious adults while discussing the Tooth Fairy Experience Program and Delta Dental’s vision for a cavity-free Washington. As guests took their seats for another high energy home game, the Tooth Fairy joined the Storm mascot, Doppler, with armfuls of toothbrushes to deliver to kids in the stands. Doppler and Tooth Fairy Jasmine demonstrated proper bushing technique on the Delta Dental Smile Cam and encouraged attendees to show off their biggest and brightest smiles.
Since its launch in 2019, as part of Delta Dental’s vision for a cavity-free Washington, the program aims to improve dental health habits at an early age, reduce the incidence of tooth decay and increase the number of kids who regularly visit the dentist.
