Tooth Fairy Alex and Arcora Foundation President and CEO Vanetta Abdellatif celebrate the opening of the clinic’s second location on July 9, 2022.
Through community partnerships, Delta Dental of Washington and Arcora Foundation help expand access to dental care across Washington state. Our long-standing partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital resulted in a new clinic that provides services to families when and where they need them. We gave the hospital a $5 million grant to open a 2nd Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic in South Seattle. In recognition of our investment, the dental clinic is named after Delta Dental of Washington and Arcora Foundation.
Seattle Children’s chose the 2nd location to be closer to the 75% of patients and families who had moved farther south in search of more affordable housing. The grant helped expand dental services and increase access to oral health providers for the community. The clinic provides integrated dental, medical, behavioral health services, alongside other services like, nutrition and early education. The dental clinic serves the people of South Seattle, including those without insurance and with low incomes.
The Tooth Fairy Experience distributed oral health kits and children’s dental story books to help celebrate the clinic’s opening. We plan to partner with Seattle Children’s and Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic in the future to do more educational programs and outreach. The clinic’s integrated model supports our vision that all people enjoy good oral and overall, with no one left behind.
