Community Marketing Manager Marya Lou and Tooth Fairies Viviana and Malcom sat down with Amanda Westbrooke at CityLine TV in Tacoma to discuss exciting new announcements from the Tooth Fairy Experience program!
Marya and the Tooth Fairies announced that the program is now available in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language. We’ve offered in-person visits from the Tooth Fairy in these three languages for awhile now, but now the program’s three storybooks are now available in Spanish and English. In addition to the PDF versions of the books, videos of the storybooks being read by Tooth Fairies are available in English (with ASL interpretation). The Spanish-language video is coming soon!
This interview is a great example of why it’s important for our Tooth Fairies to look like and communicate like our young audiences. We’re excited to continue expanding the diversity of the Tooth Fairy Experience!
What is the Tooth Fairy Experience?
The Tooth Fairy Experience is a FREE program presented by Delta Dental of Washington in which the Tooth Fairy travels the state teaching K-2 students how to care for their smiles.
Why is the Tooth Fairy Experience important?
Did you know that more than 50% of children in Washington state will experience oral decay by 3rd grade? We created our FREE program to combat this. Our program partners with the Tooth Fairy to educate kids in kindergarten through 2nd grade classrooms to make oral health fun!
What is a Tooth Fairy presentation like?
The Tooth Fairy is available to visit classrooms in person and virtually! The 20-30 minute interactive presentations can be customized for each learning environment, and usually includes a storybook reading, fun teeth facts, proper brushing technique, tooth science experiment and sugar demonstration.
How can I learn more?
The Tooth Fairy Experience website has lots of great information, and it provides parents, educators, and dentists with fun, educational materials for kids, as part of their shared vision for a cavity-free Washington.
